Sad story. Growing up, I didn't read Dr. Seuss.
I don't know why, I had tons of books. But none of them happened to be by Dr. Seuss. I vaguely remember reading one on National Reading Day, it was read to us by a person in a Cat in the Hat hat.
I got my first Dr. Seuss book, The Lorax, when I was 19. Last week. Never too late, amirite?
Anyway, was I the only depraved child here?

I, too, never grew up reading Dr. Seuss. I mean, I had read "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and knew the stories from a few of the other popular titles, but I didn't start getting into the books until my sophomore year of high school... and that's only because I was Cindy Lou Who in my school's production of Seussical!
My boyfriend was the one who introduced me to "The Lorax" after we first saw the teaser trailer for the movie. He absolutely loves the book (and both movies). His best friend from high school had a gardening club named after the book. I believe the name relate to the Truffula trees, but I can't remember!

That sounds like an awesome gardening club!
And I'm glad I'm not the only one. When I tell people, they look at me like I'm crazy! But I was familier with Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (animated version) has always been and still is my favorite Christmas special. And I saw Horton when it came out in theatres however long ago.

I'm more depraved because I just bought a He-Man styled Lorax figure off eBay, lol.
